Connected Yoga & Wellness was founded to hold space for all people to experience the physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional wellness found through yoga, mindfulness, and meditation practices. We recognize that there are many paths to enhancing holistic wellness and support the individual needs of the folks we meet day to day. We also know that these practices can provide meaningful space that allows for people to navigate through their own wellness journeys.
Our aim in this space is to walk alongside people as they connect to their bodies, to their breath, to themselves, to nature, and the world around them. We hope you will join us!
Hey, I'm Adia. I'm so glad you're here. I found yoga years ago through a wellness program at my job. I immediately experienced the amazing physical and mental benefits through my practice and decided to pursue teaching so that I could share that with you!
I have spent 20 years working in interpersonal violence prevention and victim advocacy spaces and am passionate about integrating trauma-informed wellness practices as a means of healing individuals and building safer communities.
I am mother to an incredible pre-teen son. We have three dogs and live in Columbia, S.C. I love God, family, good music, seafood, long naps, short hikes, nature, and animals.
I enjoy teaching various types of yoga, always: mindful, lots of options for various bodies, a fire playlist, and probably a few laughs. I gently offer opportunities to explore movement and breath, holding a welcoming space for all. I hope to see you on the mat soon!
We believe that yoga should be accessible for all. Our approach is rooted in a trauma-informed framework, acknowledging pain, marginalization, oppression, and other societal traumas. Each yoga practitioner will meet us on their mats in very different ways. We aim to be there with grace and understanding. When we get things wrong, we are committed to listening, learning, and growth. This space is welcoming of all races, colors, genders, sexual orientations, abilities, sizes, shapes, faiths, belief systems, and all intersecting identities. We care about who you are, what you've been through, and all of the uniqueness that you'll bring to your mat.
